In April of 2017, Asa Engineering & Consulting was selected by the City of East Ridge to provide Master Planning, Landscape Architecture Design Services, Civil Engineering Design Services, Land Surveying Services, and Resident Project Representative (RPR) Inspection Services on the I-75 Exit One “Gateway” Beautification Project located at the I-75 and US41 (Ringgold Road) interchange in East Ridge, Tennessee.
The concept is to add significant landscape and hardscape elements, stormwater detention and stormwater water quality features, along with placeholders for sculptured artwork and directional up-lighting within in the southeast quadrant of the interchange. The objective is to present an aesthetically pleasing gateway to East Ridge, Hamilton County, and the State of Tennessee to the 93,400 motorists who travel this stretch of I-75 each day. Additionally, landscape and hardscape elements and wayfinding signage will be added to the remaining three (3) quadrants of the interchange as well as along the (US41) Ringgold Road shoulders and medians within and on both ends of the interchange. The design development phase of the project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2017 with construction expected to be completed by summer of 2018
Asa staff members that serve on this project include: Jeff Sikes (Sr. Project Manager); Allen Jones, RLA (Landscape Design Principal); Jennifer Wiseman, (Landscape Designer); Micah Duffey, PE (Civil Engineer); Tami Johnson-Praino (Civil Engineering Designer); and Roger Riemer; PLS (Land Surveyor).
