Ooltewah-Ringgold Road & Standifer Gap Road Intersection Improvements
In January of 2015, Asa was selected by the Hamilton County Engineering Department to provide construction engineering inspection (CEI) services on the Ooltewah-Ringgold Road & Standifer Gap Road Intersection Improvements Project. This TDOT Locally Managed Project includes the conversion of a conventional 4-way, 2-lane intersection with a significant history of vehicular crashes to a 110-foot wide inscribed diameter round-a-bout. The construction timeline was 180-calendar days and Thomas Brothers Construction Company was the prime contractor.
Asa provided construction engineering inspection (CEI) services on the project in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Local Government Guidelines for the Management of Federal and State Funded Transportation Projects. Specific services included CEI management, inspection, materials testing, erosion prevention and sediment control (EPSC) inspection, survey, and administrative records management. The project was completed on-time and under budget.
Asa staff members assigned to this project include: Jeff Sikes (Construction Manager); Shane Fletcher (CEI Inspector); Christy MacKenzie (Final Records & EPSC Inspection); Roger Riemer (Surveyor); and Brandon Kerley (Alternate CEI Inspector).
