Central Avenue Townhomes
In November of 2017, Asa Engineering and Consulting provided Cogent Studio, LLC with professional services in order to rezone a proposed development property to C-3 Central Business Zone for a mixed use development. Beforehand, the property was zoned M-1 Manufacturing and the surround precedent for rezoning is UGC or C-2. Although it was unsure is the rezoning would be successful, the Asa team provided the due diligence, conceptual site plan and renderings, and meeting attendance that is crucial for any rezoning project to be successful. After this was done, the rezoning application was submitted for approval. Upon request of the client, Asa also facilitate one neighborhood meeting with adjacent neighborhoods prior to a Planning Commission Meeting, which was necessary to garner support from select stakeholders and community/neighborhood leaders. During the actual Planning Commission Meeting, Asa attended and represented the client, and did the same for the Chattanooga City Council Meeting after that.
