Position Overview: The Civil Design Project Manager oversees and supports the design and development of site civil and roadway design projects for public and private clients. Job Title: Mid to Senior Level Landscape Architect/Land Planner

Position Overview: This position will have responsibilities which include supervision and management of exciting, publicly and privately funded projects including master planned developments, large-scale residential and commercial sites, mixed-use developments and parks and recreation projects for multiple jurisdictions and agencies While contributing to both employee development and management of departmental activity, the experienced professional will be responsible for managing clients and undertaking business development activities related to the preparation of proposals/ contracts, production of high quality site plans, rezoning plans and related public meeting processes along with the preparation of illustrative materials, rendered graphics, landscape planting plans and other related technical construction documents within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of design development, preparation and/or administration of the contract documents, costs estimates, agency correspondence, client relations, staff supervision and mentoring.

  • Production of high-quality design in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suites (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketchup), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other design platforms.

  • Work directly with clients to advance master plans/ small area/corridor plans, develop site plans, manage the entitlement processes, and implement improvements.

  • Oversee and/or participate in entitlement efforts (due diligence, rezoning, variance requests, etc.).

  • Provide design, project, and task management leadership and mentoring to various production team members.

  • Business development and marketing of clients including networking, active participation in professional development forums, presenting work to professional organizations, writing proposals, and maintaining budgets and backlog reporting for projected work.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Planning education from an accredited program is a plus

  • Professional registration in Tennessee as a Landscape Architect.  Certified Planner is a plus.

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional land planning / Landscape Architecture experience with a diverse and dynamic portfolio.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with strong freehand illustrations and rendering skills.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/FX Works, Photoshop and Sketch Up.

  • Good financial management skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines and ability to adjust to project priorities and demands of multiple clients.

  • Experience working with local codes, ordinances and public agency standards related to land development design and related entitlement processes.

  • Demonstrated graphics skills that are expressive in both sketch and finished formats.

Position Overview: Our professional design consulting firm in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor / Party Chief to join our team. The successful candidate will bring both field and office expertise, with proficiency in GPS and robotic survey equipment, and will be able to manage a wide range of surveying responsibilities. This role requires the ability to work independently and effectively while supporting project teams and clients with high-quality survey data and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field surveys using GPS and robotic equipment to collect accurate topographical and control data.

  • Compile and complete boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, and topographical surveys.

  • Prepare construction staking notes for field crews on a daily basis.

  • Manage and coordinate field activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Utilize Civil3D (preferred) and other electronic design tools to process survey data and prepare drawings.

  • Load and unload work trucks daily with equipment and supplies.

  • Maintain survey equipment and vehicles in clean, safe, and operational condition.

  • Assist and follow directions from the survey crew supervisor.

  • Read and interpret maps as directed.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs.), climbing fences, and working on your feet all day.

Job Title: Construction Inspectors in Chattanooga

Asa has an immediate opening for two (2) full-time Construction Services Field Inspectors in our Chattanooga office.  Team members in this role will provide field observations and inspections in support of our clients and projects.  This includes safely and successfully completing observation, inspection, testing, and applicable documentation of various construction activities for compliance with project documents and local requirements. Ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience on heavy civil and transportation projects

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, technical specifications and construction contract documents

  • Good math skills

  • Organize and maintain daily records of work activities

  • Current driver’s license in the state of TN

  • Current ACI Level I, Nuclear Gauge Safety Certificates, and roadway paving certifications

  • Any TDOT, ICC, EPSC, CEI, NICET, etc. certifications is a plus

  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients and contractors

  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office products

  • Photo-document  sites and work activities

  • Effectively prioritize and track issues throughout project life cycle
