I-75 / Exit 1 Interchange Modifications
I-75 / Exit 1 Interchange Modifications
In June of 2016 the City of East Ridge selected the Asa and Vaughn & Melton Team to provide TDOT Local Programs PE-NEPA and Design services on the proposed $4.7-million improvements to I-75 Exit One in East Ridge, Tennessee. Spurred by the recent mass retail development along Camp Jordan Parkway, and the construction of the new Bass Pro retailer adjacent to the northeast quadrant of the interchange, roadway and drainage improvements were necessary to provide direct access to the new development and to eliminate the functionally deficient cloverleaf configuration on the northeast side of the interchange. Design began in the spring of 2016 and was released for construction in the summer of 2017.
In July of 2017 the team of Asa and AMEC Foster-Wheeler was selected to provide the CEI services on this project. Asa provided the daily construction management, inspection, survey, EPSC inspection, and construction materials testing (CMT) services while AMEC provided administrative and materials testing services. The project was bid in August of 2017 and construction began on September 5, 2017. It was completed and accepted in July of 2018. The project was designed and constructed in accordance with the TDOT Local Government Guidelines for State and Federally Funded Transportation Projects.
