City of East Ridge: Ringgold Road Corridor Enhancement – Phases 1, 2, & 3

Asa was selected by the City of East Ridge to provide PE-NEPA, Survey, Design, ROW, and CEI services on three (3) phases of the Ringgold Road Corridor Enhancement project between McBrien Drive Kingwood Drive.  The projects were combined into to one (1) multimodal grant project administaered by the TDOT Local Programs office in order to save both time and costs for design and construction.

The scope of work included the design and construction of a new storm sewer system; curb and gutter; 5-ft wide sidewalk on the north side of Ringgold Road; 10-ft multi-use path on the south side of Ringgold Road; landscaping, PROWAG pedestrian signals, and upgrades to the existing signals throughout the corridor.  In addition, multiple utility conflicts were discovered and mitigated through proactive communication and coordination efforts between the stakeholders.  TDOT LP NEPA, design, ROW acquisition of 74 commercial tracts, and permitting was completed in 2021.  Construction of Phases 1, 2 & 3 totaling approximately $7-million began in 2022 and was successfully completed in the summer of 2024.
